ADAX’S TRAINING PARTNER, SAS, BREAKS RECORD WITH OUTSTANDING 2017 ACHIEVEMENTS

 

ADAX’S training partner, SAS, Malaysia has recorded more than 170% increase in certifications awarded from 2016 and this has put Malaysia in top 15 of the world. The Department of Statistics Malaysia is also the first national department in the world to have SAS certified data scientists totaling up to nine (9) individuals and is the largest. This was announced recently at the SAS Education Day held at SAS Training Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Bhuvan Nijhawan, Regional Director, Education, Asia Pacific , SAS Institute said, “We have been a partner with ADAX since day one and could not thank both ADAX and MDEC enough for the opportunities that was given. It is without a doubt that we need data professionals to pivot our business and a platform like ADAX can help us upskill and reskill the talents that we need.”

CEO of ADAX, Sharala Axryd said, “SAS is an important partner to us and we could not get to where we are today without the support from the industry, our partners and MDEC. I am proud to say that even though we have been operational for only a year, we are on track to meet the KPI of 20,000 data professionals by 2020.”

ADAX has surpassed its 2017 target and is looking at a healthy growth for 2018. ADAX has contributed to more than 30% of data professionals delivered. The focus for 2018 will be the year of implementation and adoption of data analytics in businesses and SMEs. This is in-line with the government’s vision to develop the National AI framework, which is an expansion from the National BDA framework.

ADAX is a platform that inspires co-creation and collaboration amongst industry players in a centralised location. ADAX has several initiatives to encourage the adoption of data analytics which includes training & education, best practices, industry development and advocacy. ADAX is working closely with local and international delivery partners including SAS, Iverson, Databyte Academy, Dream Catcher Consulting, Quandatics, ABeam Consulting (Malaysia), iTrain (M), The Center of Applied Data Science (CADS), Axsel Management International, HELP University College Sdn Bhd, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), IMS Asia and K-Pintar, Migi-te, The National Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Malaysia, Bridgit, PSDC.
